trademark is the collaboration of tony reeves and tundra records labelmate loki. formed in 2000, the trademark project blends electronic studio craft with the live influence of their years playing jazz. trademarks output ranges from chillout through breakbeat to deep house and even drum and bass, but always with the fusion of deep jazzy chords, rolling beats and searing synths that define their style. this year sees the pair return to their roots with some deep, tech-house grooves for the discerning clubber.
ia stands for 4/4 beats and the label starts with a bang with three great and quite different 4/4 tracks for many deep and tech floors, and tropic of capricorn for more chilled moments. elevator is crisp deep/tech house which slowly builds and just rocks! with a wicked solid deep bassline too that keeps things really groovy. jack o diamonds also has that clean crisp sound and groovy bass with synth stabs and lots of funk for loads of different dancefloors. its a bit more upbeat than elevator and also has wicked deep bass to keep peeps movin! saturn 5 is deeper, darker, subtle and just a massive deep phat sound which is totally awesome on any decent system, wonderful deep textures and pads - just really lush. tropic of capricorn is a deep detroity broken beat track that compliments the others. crisp production again and not too cluttered, it does what it needs to and works in many different situations.

on their introductory minus ep, click box offers a refreshing return to a bygone era of classic instrumentals, full of experimentation and passion generated by that ongoing love affair between man and machine. berlin shades starts out in a jittery minimal fashion but soon dives much deeper as the tough electro bassline expands and contracts dragging the dancer to and fro. the cascading hook and in-your-face sci-fi synth motif add a sense of tongue-in-cheek drama to a dynamic arrangement that incorporates steep inclines, sharp drops and snaking pathways. as the short staccato bass riff gains momentum and the hook comes round for the second time you just know somethings lying in wait and the boys certainly dont disappoint. lost road is anything but a blind alley, kicking off with some low-slung interplay between a two-note bassline and a whiplash snare that dishes out a serious spanking. hi-hats fizz across the audio spectrum, cleverly pitching up and down before a drunken bass sequence ushers in the main section with its sliding, twisted synth distortions primed for surprise and immediate disorientation. once all the elements are in play, the fun really starts with so many objects of interest competing for attention. the arrangement is pulled and pushed to great effect extracting maximum effect from this tough little unit. more electro flavour to the fore as the loose, broken beat intro and robot sounds of some toys make for some slick moves on the dancefloor. the retro synth riffs and dark spiralling pads conjure up images of some early 80s lab full of computer kids in white coats twiddling knobs on huge mainframe monoliths. the bouncing bass and analogue belches make this a must for all retro-tastic electro-boogie fans. the theme continues over into voxer as rising filtered bass tones playout over another trademark click box drum pattern, this time doused in heavy reverb and delay. an array of analogue bleeps, screams and laser beams keep the motor ticking over.

following the success of his last lp, chronicles of never, and his recent track jedwab on nick curlys 8bit imprint, marcin czubala makes his return to mobilee with mezcalinna. continuing his string of exceptional releases bearing his unmistakable signature marksùslinky, undulating grooves full of bizarre twists and turns that ceaselessly continue to surprise the listenerùmezcalinna is comprised of two tracks whose continuities only serve to highlight the ways in which they differentiate themselves from and act as complements to one another. day 1 begins with a heavy bass line echoed by a stuttering percussive beat that guides the rhythm until the vocal chants and kick drum drop. accented by occasional drum fills and cymbal crashes, the track reaches its climax with the entrance of a lone piano chord that, despite its initially alienating presence, ultimately serves as a means of melding and unifying the tracks constituent components. if day 1 is an early morning track, day 2 provides its counterpart as a nighttime dance floor stormer with a darker sound and haunting, reverb-laced vocals. also beginning with a splattering of percussion but taking a decidedly somber turn with dissonant synthesizer stabs and an eerie vocal loop that shadows the track from beginning to end, rhythm and creative use of contorted vocals lead the way as this track zigzags in a way that only marcin czubala can make music do

martin ikin, aka dj mayhem, has been producing since 1991, originally recording hardcore, jungle techno, and drum and bass tracks for such legendary labels as basement, face, and precious materials. after a brief hiatus from the music scene, he has returned with a vengeance with releases & remixes for labels like defected, hed kandi, stereo sushi, soulfuric trax / migrant & of course his own soul purpose label. here we have a new guise key issues but nothing changes and as ever with mi productions it’s the same tight production, driving beats, rolling basslines & sizzling keys. if you liked dj mayhem blow which was signed to defected then this is for you!!

producer bradka began his career in 2002. once he entered a music recording studio, his position of a perspective young pianist was immediately replaced by a dozen of knobs, switches, buttons and cables. it was a place, where not only somebodys creations could be performed, but also a place where music history could be written. a few hundreds of his created or produced works for different performers, tv identities and commercials are found in his biography. in 2007, bradka began paying more attention to his own creative work, and since then has been cooperating with san francisco based world famous dj and producer andy caldwell and with a french recording label tubetracks. working in team with other creative people gives new possibilities to successive projects such as downtown party network. highly evaluated by the djs and the representatives of music industry duo is combining the best from legendary disco times, groovy electric additions, proper beat and the undescribable lithuanian point of view.
